I was 50, weighed 450 pounds, and after 10 years of trying "everything",
I had just about given up. My attempts at exercise resulted, inevitably,
in some injury that would sideline my efforts. I tried diets, drug treatments,
nutrition programs. I joined a gym and made some progress, working four
to five hours a week. After eighteen months, I was feeling stronger and
had lost 20 pounds. My personal trainer, Mike Michelson, suggested Superslow
and referred me to Gary Lindahl.
Superslow became the cornerstone of my fitness program. In two short
sessions a week I was able to build muscle mass much faster - without
injury. As my strength and flexibility improved, I simply moved more.
More importantly, I was finally able to sustain a weight loss through
dieting. My metabolism stayed high - even improved.
In the six months since then, I have lost 130 pounds and sixteen inches
off my waist. Despite this dramatic weight loss, I have increased the
weight loads I lift. So I'm losing fat, not muscle. Indeed, my ratio of
fat to body weight has decreased from 50% to 38%. And as I learned more
about Superslow, I moved to a once-a-week session lasting less than 30
minutes.
Superslow works! And Gary Lindahl adds considerably to the Superslow
method. As a very experienced physical therapist, he develops sound strategies
and is able to communicate what is happening as you train and develop.
As a teacher, Gary has developed a top-flight staff. His people are uniformly
disciplined and professional. As an individual, he offers integrity and
enthusiasm, something we can all use in greater quantities.
