The cornerstone of SuperSlow is a 20-second cycle of each repetition from the beginning to the start of the next repetition. This requires a 10-second positive contraction, in which the muscles are shortening, and a 10-second negative cycle, in which the muscles are lengthening. The muscles targeted are not unloaded until they have reached a level of fatigue that renders the musculature momentarily dysfunctional (inroading). |

SuperSlow exercises are performed on equipment
that you usually find at your local gym. Nautilus was the first equipment
developed in the 1970's. It has been followed by manufacturers like Medx,
Cybex, Body Master, Life Fitness, etc.
The amount of time your muscles are "under tension" (time under load) is recorded by a stopwatch rather than the customary repetitions. Your time, weight, proper positioning, and joint movements are constantly monitored and recorded by your SuperSlow trainer.
Super Slow is the safest and most structured form of strength training.
