Research has proven that after you receive manipulation under anesthesia
(MUA), continued stretching is extremely important. This will not only
include continued mobilization by your chiropractor, but in addition,
strengthening and range of motion performed in an exercise department
and at home.
You will be monitored on maintaining your range of motion
for approximately two months. After this period of time, you will have
complete knowledge of your home exercise program, which will be continued
over the long term. In addition, strength training is also important,
and you will be trained in high intensity exercise strengthening using
the SuperSlow® protocol.
The frequency will be approximately two times per
week for three weeks, then one time per week for four to five weeks. Each
visit will last approximately 30 minutes at which time you will use equipment
to increase your range. You will be taught specific home exercises for
maintaining range of motion. You can continue on with the strengthening
program at your own gym, a home program, or continue on at the exercise
studio.
