Many people ask me about books that I would recommend for further reading,
so I have started to compile a list. I have personally read each of these
titles and my comments are included.
For your convenience, each title is linked to Amazon.com so that you
can order them easily.
In my opinion - a best buy. Well written, easy to read, answers
lots of questions.
Emphasis on strength. An advocate of the SuperSlow protocol
by Ken Hutchins. Gives Ken lots of credit for his expansion of
the SuperSlow methodology of high intensity exercise.
Covers everything from nutrition, removing body fat and understanding
strength training basics.
A very complete book on general exercise. Dr. Westcott is a
Ph.D. in exercise physiology and correlates many of his ideas
and thoughts in this book. In fact, he did the studies on SuperSlow
showing you can almost double your strength by using the SuperSlow
protocol on a 15 second repetition cycle.
Emphasis is on strength. This is not for runners or other aerobic
enthusiasts. Excellent book for men and women over 50.
GRADE: Excellent for those who want to get a little deeper into
the physiology of exercise.
