To All My Past & Current
SuperSlow Exercise Family
I believe it's time I take a few moments and correspond with each person
who I have come in contact with involving the SuperSlow® exercise
protocol. Possibly by now you have heard about the national coverage this
protocol has attained in Newsweek, Businessweek, CNN, and other television
programs.
Those who started with me in early 1999 remember my giving you information
just to show that the program was reliable and safe. I had been told it
was safe, but in reality had to experience this myself. You were all participants
in my own personal study.
Let me give you a little history since this all started essentially March
2, 1999. The statistics, as noted below, are for two years, ending March
31, 2001. I have taught the SuperSlow protocol to 358 students, giving
each of you the little lecture on the importance of going "slow,"
breathing correctly, the rules of getting on and off the machines when
told, and probably your first understanding of what "intensity"
is to a word - a word you have never heard of before . "inroading!"
With each of you as a student, I have now safely given 8,714 training
sessions and "pinned" 56,641 machines. I am still getting excellent
results. In fact, there are a few of you who started with me two years
ago and are continuing to work at the same intensity today. Congratulations
to you for understanding the values of having a strong body and the benefits
that arise from stressing the musculature system of the body.
I am writing this letter to thank you for being a part of a program that
has grown substantially over the past two years. I just returned from
the SuperSlow Convention at Texas A&M University, College Station,
Texas, and as a speaker, I was able to interest numerous physicians and
physical therapists around the country to develop this program in their
practices. I now have professionals flying in from all over the country
to shadow me in the working environment of the exercise studio.
I especially want to thank those individuals who took the time to write
a testimonial, and to Dr. Henstorf for his letter of support concerning
the program and its safety. To my knowledge, I have not "injured"
one individual throughout the course of this program. Some of you got
sore, headaches, muscle and joint pain, but continued to work hard through
the discomfort.
If this letter will in some way instill in you the importance of maintaining
a strong body, I feel as though I have succeeded no matter if you are
being trained by me or not. Just be careful. There are so many trainers
who will tell you they can put you on any program available, but as you
are aware, high-intensity strength training requires focus, intensity,
and proper positioning and alignment. This is all somewhat difficult when
you have an unfamiliar machine at a club and rap music in the background!
I am going to periodically communicate with all of my former students
in the future. My plan is to have a website
up by July 1, 2001, with additional information involving the exercise
program that you helped start on the West Coast and its future. As for
now, the best I can do is this letter. Each of you has a special place
in my thoughts and mind as I look through each name and address in sending
out this newsletter.
I wish you all the best, and don't be afraid to give us a call if you
need any help. Deanna is still answering the phone, and I am still telling
everybody to "slow down."
